How to install Android apk files in Windows using BlueStacks Apk Handler

apk bluestacks

So I downloaded Bluestacks, run on my Windows 8 PC and thankfully it works like a charm. Later, I figured out an easy way to install Android apk files into Bluestacks launcher so that you can install android apps without cloud connect service.

How to install Android apk files in Bluestacks App Player

apk bluestacks[7]

1. Download any apk files from internet, for example Medscape.apk. Medscape is a free medical app for Android.

2. Right click apk files > Open with > open Program Files folder > Bluestacks > and select HD-ApkHandler.exe.

3. Now, your apk files will be automatically installed to Bluestacks when you double click on the files.

4. Working apps installed by using this method :

bluestacks dolphin browser

Dolphin Browser HD

apk bluestacks[9]

Amazon Market

apk bluestacks[11]

Astro FIle Browser.

medscape

Medscape for Android.

whatsapp bluestacks

Whatsapp installed but I can’t get passed the device identification. Will post about it when I find workarounds.

I’ll try exploring Bluestacks for more possibilities and exciting hacks/tweaks. Thanks Bluestacks for awesome works in bringing Android closer and more integrated into Windows ecosystem.

p/s: To find apk files via google, just type “App name apk mediafire/4shared/hotfile” for example “Medscape apk mediafire” or “Dolphin HD apk 4 shared”.

Very nice solution! But how to download apk files? Google constantly returns with freeapk.com but I can’t find a way to download the .apk files from their website?

    Thanks!

Oh, wow. Thanks so much for sharing this info. I don’t have my new [first!] tablet yet (November 15; can you guess which one? :-) ), but I’ve really been wanting to try out Amazon’s App Store in advance and you just made that possible. Well, you know, you and BlueStacks. Thanks so much!!!

I’ve tried a few games and they’re all incompatible. Do you know of any that are? Is there a way to tell ahead of time (on pandaapp) with the requirements or firmware? Thanks!!

Thanks for the tip. Is there a way to set up a proxy in bluestacks?

I think Bluestacks use your computer internet connection settings…try to set up proxy in Control Panel > Internet Options and see whether it makes any differences in Bluestacks

That only seems to set a proxy in internet explorer, not system wide.

Thanks for the suggestion though!! :)
